The April full moon will bathe the sky on April 16th. This full Moon reaches peak illumination at 2:57 P.M. EDT but won’t be visible above the horizon until after sunset. The April full moon is known as the Pink Moon. Although we wish that the name had to do with the color of the moon itself, the reality is that it is not that mystical. The April full moon receives its name after the beautiful pink flowers that bloom in early spring. Last year’s Pink Moon was the biggest and brightest of 2021! It was called the “supermoon” so hopefully we get lucky this weekend!
