The 7 Chakras and How they Impact Us:
There is said to be many different charkas in the body; actually there 114 Chakras and 72,000 “nadis,” but our main focus will be on the 7 main chakras. Maybe we will cover the 114 chakras and 72,000 nadis in another post.
Please note that our bodies possess a very complex energy system and we don’t have to learn and know every minute detail when it comes the Chakras. As long as we focus on the bigger picture at hand, it will present us with clarity, healing, and more of a fine tuned attention to our health and well-being.
We will review the 7 main Chakras, colors associated with them, where they’re located on the body, how to unlock them, and the crystals that support them.
What is a Charka?
Chakras are different energy centers that govern certain parts of the body through which a certain type and quantity of energy that is specific to that area flows. The word Chakra translates to “wheel” in Sanskrit. You can imagine that it translate to “wheel” in order to represent and symbolize movement and circulation of free flowing positive energy throughout our bodies. The 7 Chakras are located in specific regions of our body starting from the Root Chakra to the Crown Chakra. All of our Chakras are important and let’s get into them.
1. Root Chakra:
The first is The Root Chakra or Muladhara. The Root Chakra is located at the base of your spine. It helps you feel grounded and safe providing you with a base or foundation (support) and stability for your life journey.
When our Root Chakra is out of balance or blocked we may be struggling with feelings of safety, support, and being grounded. We may also feel on edge or unable to trust ourselves in making the right decisions and skeptical of others. We can also end up being complacent and hold onto what we have in fears that good things won’t come back around to us. A blocked or root chakra makes us feel powerless. Being powerless makes us unhappy.

When our Sacra Chakra is out of balance or blocked we may be experiencing emotional ups and downs, showing a lack of creative expression, displaying feelings of loneliness and anxiety, and engaging in improper expressions of sexuality.

There are several ways to unblock your Sacral Chakra. Use of Essential Oils such as sandalwood, galangal, and jasmine. Meditation and Yoga recommended yoga poses include the camel pose and the Bound Angle Pose.

Here are a few tips: Practice gratitude; engage in mediation and practice heart opening affirmations such as “My heart is open and free from past experiences that hurt it” and “I create loving and supportive relationships”

5. Throat Chakra:
The throat chakra, or Vishuddha, is located in your throat. This chakra has to do with our ability to communicate verbally. When your Throat Chakra is blocked or unbalanced you will be fearful of speaking the truth, have a tough time expressing your feelings and thoughts, and even feel anxious about communicating with others.

There are a few practices available to help unblock The Throat Chakra. The first one includes stretches and neck exercises. The neck stretches and exercises help prevent the accumulation of stress and tension in your throat and neck. Also, practice yoga poses such as Shoulder Stand, Plow, and Fish that focus on the neck muscles.

When your Third Eye Chakra is blocked or unbalanced then you will experience feelings of confusion, uncertainty, pessimism, and lack or purpose.

There are a few ways to activate your Third Eye Chakra. There are several foods you can add to your diet which may help activate your Third Eye Chakra. These foods include raw cacao, honey, goji berries, garlic, watermelon, lemon, and ginseng. The use of essential oils such as jasmine, lemon, and sandalwood are helpful as well. Meditations and chant are also helpful practices.

When your Crown Chakra is blocked or unbalanced you may experience feelings of lack of motivation to reach goals, low excitement levels, and lack of self worth.

This is a lot of information to take in all at once. Our suggestion is to select one or two of the chakras that you are drawn to and really focus on and work on. And after you have balanced and unblocked those chakras, then you can concentrate on the rest of them. In time, you will learn what your body needs and how best to implement practices that help balance yourself. By learning the chakras and what activates or blocks them, we are able to understand, change, and control our lives.
